Information about Tojoman Lagoon
Tojoman Lagoon
Tojoman Lagoon, which is roughly a 2.5-hour boat journey from Siargao island, is one of the few locations on Earth where "stingless" jellyfish may be found. Jellyfish are one of the oldest, hardest, and most common types of marine organisms in the world. In fact, they have bell-shaped bodies made of gelatin.
The lagoon, which is surrounded by rocky outcrops and a lot of forest, is a declared jellyfish sanctuary. Motorized boats are prohibited from entering the area due to the shallow water. In order to explore the lagoon, visitors typically ride tiny paddle boats. Visitors have the option to disembark the boat to walk around, take pictures, go snorkeling, or simply cool off in the water.
How to get there
Fly from Metro Manila to Butuan City. To go to the Butuan bus station, ride a tricycle. Take a bus to Surigao City and get off at Bad-as Junction. Ride a boat going to Tojoman Lagoon.
Best time to visit
The greatest time to observe the animals is from March to July, which also happens to be the peak season for blooms, or the period when jellyfish reproduce at their highest rates.
