Tops Lookout Cebu

About ten kilometers away from downtown Cebu, a popular destination among tourists sits on top of the summit of Mt. Busay in Lahug. Tops Lookout or simply Tops to locals is an observatory deck and a picnic place overlooking the city of Cebu, Mandaue, and Mactan Island. On top of the mountain, an interesting concrete fortress-like structure can be found where small stores, bars, and cafés are located. There are small benches around the deck where tourists can relax and breathe in all of nature’s glory.

What to Do

Families, groups of friends, couples, or even solo travelers have a wonderful time in Tops. Tourists enjoy a picturesque view of the entire city of Cebu, even the coast of Bohol. The view of the sunset from the mountain is spectacular so tourists appreciate its beauty while drinking in the company of family or friends. Food and drinks are available at the snack bars but guests who prefer to bring their own food and drinks may do so. There is also an available grilling spot for those who fancy freshly grilled food. For tourists who opt to have some peaceful time, a good book and a nice cold drink are the best company.

With its breathtaking sceneries either during the daytime or at night, Tops Lookout offers a lot of photo opportunities for tourists. Tops exudes a romantic vibe that makes it ideal for couples to have a quiet dinner. It is also perfect for a memorable wedding proposal. Souvenir shops are also located on the premise so tourists can purchase items or keepsakes to bring home to families and friends.

The Bell

There is an old bell perched on one side of the deck. It makes a beautiful backdrop for a souvenir photo. There’s an interesting slant to the bell in Tops Lookout. It is believed that when a couple or a group of people gather around the bell as they hold hands while one of them rings it, the partnership among them will be strengthened.

Take Note

There is a minimal fee to enter Tops Lookout. Since Tops is approximately 2,000 meters above sea level, it tends to be chilly towards the late afternoon so it is best to wear something appropriate.
