Description

Discover the stories of Cebu City's historic sites and the iconic Simala Shrine through this day tour. This trip is best suited for travelers interested in understanding the province's culture as each stop contributes to Cebu's heritage. The tour already includes transfers, the service of a guide, entrance fees to the attractions, a set lunch with bottled water, and free hotel pick-up and drop-off within Cebu City or Mactan.

After getting fetched from your accommodation, your guide will take you to your first stop of the day, the Simala Shrine. Built in 1998, this grand church is a well-known pilgrimage site among devout Roman Catholics as it houses the image of the Our Lady of Lindogon, which is believed to be miraculous. Inside the church's halls, you will also find a museum devoted to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

From there, you will go to Magellan's Cross. This large wooden cross stands inside an octagonal stone structure and commemorates the introduction of Catholicism in the Philippines. You will also walk over to the Basilica del Sto Nino, best known as the oldest Roman Catholic Church in the country. After walking through its historical halls, you will pass by the Heritage of Cebu Monument on the way to the Museo Sugbo or Yap Sandiego Ancestral House.

The Museo Sugbo tells the story of the entire Cebu province through well-preserved artifacts housed in various rooms. Meanwhile, the ancestral home is known to be one of the oldest houses in the province and depicts the lives of the Yap-Sandiego clan. Following your time at either museum, you will travel to the Pedro Calungsod Church. This religious site was built in honor of the second Filipino saint and features various artworks that tell his story.

Finally, you will wrap up your adventure with a running tour through some of Cebu City's famous areas. First up is a drive through South Road Properties, followed by a quick ride along Colon Street and Fuente Osmena Circle. Your tour will then end with a drive past the Capitol Site.

Explore the halls of the most important places throughout Cebu's heritage by booking this day tour. Check availability by choosing a date.
