Bahay Nakpil-Bautista, located in the heart of Manila City, is a historic residence built in 1914 by renowned architect Arcadio Arellano. This architectural gem exemplifies traditional urban Filipino design, featuring a stone base on the first floor and a wooden upper story adorned with sliding windows. The intricate details of the house are influenced by the Viennese Secession art movement of the early 1900s.

The house served as the residence of notable figures in Philippine history, including Dr. Ariston Bautista Lin, a prominent physician and philanthropist, and his wife, Petrona Nakpil. It also became the home of Gregoria de Jesus, the Lakambini (Muse) of the Katipunan, after her marriage to Julio Nakpil, a distinguished composer and revolutionary leader.

Today, Bahay Nakpil-Bautista stands as a museum dedicated to preserving the rich cultural and historical heritage of the Philippines. Visitors can explore exhibits showcasing artifacts from the 1896 Revolution, personal belongings of the Nakpil-Bautista family, and displays highlighting the artistic contributions of Julio Nakpil. The house offers a glimpse into the lifestyle of Filipino patriots during a pivotal era in the nation's history.
