Ephrathah Farm is one of the local organic farms in Iloilo. The farm got its name from the old name of Bethlehem, based on the Holy Bible, which means being fruitful. Like the local government of Iloilo,
Ephrathah Farm has a goal of promoting natural food production through organic farming. The farmers here in the farm uses pesticides that are made from the vegetation of the farm which will not harm both humans and the environment.
The fertilizers that are used in planting were processed through vermi-composting. Naturally-produced crops are distributed to different institutions like restaurants and supermarkets. Their primary produces are lettuce, papayas and dragon fruits.
Ephrathah Farm is one of the smaller organic farms in Iloilo with only 14 hectares of land that are equally divided into two parts – the resort and the farm.
The resort has a modern design and offers a lot of different family-friendly activities. There’s rappelling, wall climbing, mountain bikes, ATV rides and zipline. For simpler activities, a jogging path and swimming pool may be enjoyed, too.
Families and groups may also request for a tour around the farm. Parents and children will be exposed to the medicinal herb plantation, processes of cultivation, small interaction with farm and pond animals and guided vegetable picking.
Little do people know, Ephrathah Farm is an accredited farm school where their teams conduct short courses on agriculture. Even day guests will already learn a lot from a quick tutorial on organic farming. Their accommodating staff are very generous in sharing information when it comes to the processes and the crops.
In a few occasions, the general manager of Ephrathah Farms conducts keynote talks and trainings to local farmers to educate them on what organic farming is and how it can help them improve their lives.
