The Mindanao Contemporary Art Gallery is an outdoor gallery located in Malagos Garden Resort, a 12-hectare inland Nature Theme Resort in Davao City. The gallery features installations and artworks made by various contemporary artists from Mindanao that have drastically influenced the change and growth of the "Mindanaoan identity."
Among its most notable displays is a retrospective exhibition of the works of the late Napoleon Abueva, a National Artist of the Philippines who was renowned as the Father of Modern Filipino sculpture. At the center of the gallery is a 3-story tower called the "Treeline birdwatch," which overlooks the other installations.
Best time to visit
Since it's an outdoor gallery, it's best to schedule a visit during the dry season (December to May), so you won't have to worry too much about strong rains.
