Malagos Garden Resort is a 12-hectare resort in Barangay Malagos along the coasts of Calinan in Davao. The property opened its doors to the public in 1994. It features accommodations, restaurants, swimming pools, a farm, and the Philippines' first chocolate museum. Packed with several facilities, this resort is a perfect getaway for families and groups of friends. During your visit here, you can also ride a kalesa (horse- or carabao-drawn carriage) to explore the property at a leisurely pace. For animal lovers, you can hand feed various species of feathered friends at the bird feeding dome, walk among butterflies in the butterfly sanctuary, and befriend animals at the petting zoo. Along with this, the resort's most notable facility is the Chocolate Museum, where visitors can channel their inner chocolatier and craft their own decadent pieces of chocolate.
Best time to visit
The best time to visit the Malagos Garden Resort is from December through May, which is typically the start and end of the dry season in the Philippines. Since there are fewer chances of rainfall during these months, the resort and its lush gardens are more picturesque during this season. However, the property is open to visitors all year round.
