Information about Mt. Matinik
Mt. Matinik
Located in the municipality of San Miguel in Bulacan, Mount Matinik is considered an easy and beginner-friendly hike and is often paired with a trek to nearby Mount Manalmon. Its name means “thorny” in the Filipino language, and while there are thorny plants in the mountain, a seasoned guide will be able to lead visitors on a path that avoids them.
The journey to the top of Mount Matinik is easier than that of Mount Manalmon. At the summit, hikers will be rewarded with an unobstructed view of the surrounding greenery and the nearby river.
Best time to visit
The best time to visit Mount Matinik is during the dry months, which usually fall from November to May. This will ensure that the trail is dry, and you can avoid having to go through muddy and slippery paths.
