Pass Island

Pass Island is one of the hidden gems of Coron, with its white sandbar lined with coconut trees and offering a view of the serene waves lapping the ocean. This is a small island located just outside of Busuanga in Palawan. There are many ways to get to Pass Island but riding a boat is required to get here. From Coron Town proper, it takes around 2 hours by boat. Alternatively, one can also ride a bus to Concepcion, where it is around an hour away by boat. Travel agencies around the town also regularly offer tours to this island.

Pass Island has a volleyball and basketball court for visitors to engage in some team play while on the beach. Snorkelling is also one of the best things to do as the waters around the island are surrounded by breath-taking corals and plenty of aquatic life. Drones are also allowed on the island, which will let visitors take unobstructed panoramic views of the whole island, offering a unique perspective to see the clarity of the surrounding waters. 

For those who are not planning to stay overnight, the pastel sunset views are equally stunning which can be seen before departing on a boat back to Coron town proper. There is a hill at the back of the island with a lookout over the ocean towards the Sun, which is the best viewpoint to view the sunset.

How to get there

Take a bus or cab from Coron Town to Concepcion, then hire a boat to Pass Island.

This is an all-year round destination best visited during the summer months.
