Puerta Real Gardens

The Puerta Real Gardens is an event venue inside Intramuros that features lush gardens and 18th-century architecture. Prior to being turned into a popular events place, the gardens were initially built as one of Intramuros' gates back in 1663. During this time, only the Governor-General could pass through this gate for state occasions. During the British invasion of Manila in 1762, the gate was destroyed amid the fighting. By 1780, Puerta Real was reconstructed at its present location as part of a new defense plan for Intramuros. Despite this, the gate was still damaged during the Battle of Manila in 1945 but was eventually restored in 1969. 

Nowadays, the Puerta Real Gardens has become an ideal place to hold outdoor events such as weddings, debuts, and birthday parties.

Best time to visit

The Puerto Real Gardens is open to the public all year round. However, it is best to visit in the dry season, which usually starts in December and ends in May.
