Cagsawa Ruins

Cagsawa Ruins, located in the province of Albay in Bicol,  is famous for its old church tower and the stunning view of Mayon Volcano. Long ago, Cagsawa was a busy town with a church, but in 1814, a big eruption of Mayon covered it in volcanic ash and rocks.

Nowadays, people come from all over to see this Legazpi Albay tourist spot and learn about what happened. You can walk around the old walls and imagine what the town was like. The church tower, still standing, is a reminder of the tragedy that struck Cagsawa.

There’s a small entrance fee to the park. You can join a Cagsawa Ruins Albay tour to get the best experience.

Best time to visit

The park is open from 6 AM to 6 PM daily.
