Information about Giant Statue of our Lady of Salvation
Giant Statue of Our Lady of Salvation
The Giant Statue of Our Lady of Salvation (or Nuestra Señora de Salvacion) can be found in Legazpi City, in the middle of the roundabout near the Barangays of Pawa and Tamaoyan. It is 15 meters high, which is roughly the height of 5 stories. It is believed to be the tallest religious statue in the Bicol region.
It was officially unveiled and blessed on August 20, 2022, and has since then been attracting patrons and tourists. The view of the statue is amazing in itself, but when the skies are clear, you can also get a fantastic view of Mount Mayon’s perfect cone in the background, giving you a picturesque image of two of Albay’s tourist attractions.
Visitors can rest and enjoy the views from the benches at the base of the statue.
Best time to visit
As the statue is one of the outdoor tourist spots in Legazpi, it’s best to visit in during the dry season, which usually falls from December to May. You may visit it any time of the day, as its views of the Mayon are equally stunning in the daytime and at night. But if you want the best views of the volcano, it’s best to visit when it’s not cloudy.
