Information about Badian Canyoneering
Badian Canyoneering
Badian Canyoneering in Cebu is an outdoor recreational activity that mainly involves traveling through canyons by various methods such as hiking, walking, rappelling, jumping, swimming, and rock climbing.
The canyoneering in the municipality of Badian has two options. First one is the downstream canyoneering. This will start from the Kanlaob River in Alegria going through Badian and ending in Kawasan Falls.
The second one is the upstream canyoneering that simply reverses the downstream route. The starting point of the upstream canyoneering is in the Kawasan Falls, going through Badian and all the way to Kanlaob River.
Most people, specifically the beginners, go for the downstream route as it only involves less difficult active modes like walking, swimming, and jumping. On the other hand, the upstream route mostly includes climbing.
For the downstream course, the canyoneering begins in the Kanlaob River where tourists will be rappelling down a cliff before jumping the 20-feet cliff into the clear blue river. The river features towering canyon walls around.
The following parts of the activity comprise a lot of jumping, walking, and swimming. Along the way, there are plenty of rock formations and small caves to go through, as well as rocky trails. On the way to the third level of Kawasan Falls will be a forest hike that highlights spring water coming from the mountain and a man-made dam that can be found a few meters away.
The second level of Kawasan Falls is where tourists can find waterfalls, rooms, and eateries. The final leg of the canyoneering is a 35-feet jump from the top of Kawasan falls, ending the activity in the first level of the falls. This is the biggest level where tourists enjoy a cruise along the river or a dip in the waters.
