The Rakuh-a-idi Spring (Spring of Youth / Fountain of Youth) in Mahatao, Batanes is a hidden gem when it comes to talking about attractions in Batanes. As a natural spring pool that overlooks the beach and the scenic Mount Iraya, it has become a place of relaxation and solace for locals and travelers.
Locals believe that the cold water spring can bring back one’s youth. This can be
attributed to the spring’s location being tucked underneath the first settlement of the first Ivatans. The grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes can also be found beside the spring’s main water source.
