Siargao, the Surfing Capital of the Philippines, is not only known for its world-class waves but also for its stunning white sand beaches, crystal-clear waters, and laid-back island vibe. I've been lucky enough to experience the best of Siargao tourist spots firsthand! I loved riding the waves at Cloud 9, one of the top surfing spots in the Philippines, and swimming in the beautiful, clear waters of Sugba Lagoon. I also remember getting lost (in a good way!) exploring the hidden caves near Magpupungko Rock Pools.

Siargao's popularity might make you think a vacation here is too expensive. Limited flights to Siargao per day and a growing tourist scene can seem daunting, but don't worry! Your Siargao trip cost can be affordable like mine.

While I usually pride myself on my DIY travel skills, this time around, I opted for a different approach. Instead of going for a Siargao DIY travel for me and my friends, I began to research carefully for packages, and I stumbled upon a 3-day Siargao budget trip package on the Guide to the Philippines website.

Surfers in Siargao

Intrigued by the idea of a hassle-free 3 days and 2 nights in Siargao at a surprisingly cheap cost, I decided to try their package. The price was surprisingly reasonable, especially considering what was included, such as accommodations and roundtrip airport transfers. Plus, the idea of having everything pre-arranged and not having to worry about logistics on vacation is a win in my book.

And let me tell you, it was the perfect decision for our group trip! In this article, I'll give you the specifics of our package and how it made our adventure smooth sailing (or should I say wave-riding?) from start to finish.

Siargao Budget Package: Hotel and Airport Transfers Included

While searching for packages online, I came across an amazing offer: a 3-day Siargao package from Guide to the Philippines, priced at only PHP6,500 per head (around US$113) for our group of four. There were other Siargao travel packages to choose from on the website, but we booked this one specifically because it fits our Siargao budget, and the inclusions are also good, such as a Siargao hotel stay and roundtrip airport transfers.

Stress-Free Arrival with Included Roundtrip Airport Transfers

One of the things I loved most about this package is the inclusion of roundtrip airport transfers. There was no scrambling for public vans or haggling after a flight; a driver was waiting at the airport to take us to the resort right away. This not only saved us time but also made sure we had a smooth transition from plane to island mode. We were able to just sit back, relax, and enjoy the stunning Siargao scenery as we made our way to the resort.

While flights aren't included in this particular package, Guide to the Philippines offers cheap flights to Siargao from your starting point. This flexibility allowed us to choose the flight schedule that best suited our travel plans and budget.

Cozy accommodation at Himaya Siargao

For this package, we chose the comfort accommodations category and checked in at Himaya Siargao, one of the best places to stay in Siargao for groups. This laid-back resort felt like a peaceful oasis for us after a day of island adventures. The Deluxe Villa assigned to us was air-conditioned (a total lifesaver in the Siargao heat!), had a comfy double bed, and even a balcony for enjoying the fresh air. Plus, it came with a private bathroom and the basic essentials.

The best part? Himaya has one of the best restaurants in Siargao called Tiki Hut serving Carribean-inspired dishes and some comfort Filipino food for breakfast. It was the perfect spot to grab a bite and just relax after a long day. We also love their island coolers and coffee!

Close Proximity to Surf Spots and Other Attractions

Cloud 9 Siargao

Himaya's location is super convenient. It's close to Siargao surf spots like Cloud 9 and other attractions, mostly within 6 kilometers! It's also close to the jump-off point for Siargao island hopping tours to attractions like Guyam and Daku. My group didn’t have to travel too far. This means more time for beach lounging and less time traveling!

Things to Do in Siargao on a Budget

Siargao island hopping boat

Before we arrived on the lively island of Siargao, the question of "what to do in Siargao for 3 days" loomed large. Our budget-friendly package didn't include activities, so we decided to book Siargao tours separately. Thankfully, Guide to the Philippines, a website we trust, came to the rescue with a variety of options listed on their website.

We wanted to explore everything this island had to offer. Luckily, there were tons of fun activities that fit perfectly with our budget. Here's what we did on our trip:

Siargao Island Hopping Tour

Daku Island SiargaoThere are many Siargao islands to visit, so we couldn't miss an island-hopping tour! We booked a Siargao tri-island hopping tour that includes the entrance fees to Guyam, Daku, and Naked Islands, a boodle fight lunch, a local guide, and land and boat transfers.

Our first stop was Naked Island. It was exactly what it sounded like: pristine white sand and crystal-clear waters with no trees. We had enough time to swim and get a little tan before our boat brought us to Daku Island.

Daku Island is the biggest of the three. It wasn't just stunning beaches, though!  There was a small village there, and the locals, mostly fishermen, were so friendly. We chatted for a bit and learned a ton about their way of life. It’s also a lunch stopover, and we were able to experience the famous Siargao food spread that’s all over social media here. Fresh seafood, grilled meats, and sliced fruits, beautifully arranged in a banana leaf.

Travelers having lunch at Daku Island SiargaoGuyam Island, our last stop, was the smallest, but it was my favorite. There were palm trees everywhere, it had super chill vibes, and the water was just as clear as the other islands. There were also these unique coral rock formations under the water, so if you brought snorkeling gear, you’re in for a treat! The whole place felt like a tropical paradise come to life.

Siargao Motorcycle Rental and Tuktuk Tour

When I go on a DIY trip to Siargao, I always rent a motorcycle so I can explore Siargao at my own pace. Luckily, I was able to book a Siargao motorcycle rental as an add-on to this package. The rental included helmets, and they even delivered the bikes right to our hotel for free. It's a really affordable way to get around, especially if you're traveling with a friend and can split the cost.

They also had options to rent the motorbikes for longer than a day, which is cool if you're planning on exploring more of the island. Travel insurance wasn't included, so keep that in mind in case of anything unexpected. But all in all, adding the motorbike rental was a breeze and made exploring Siargao so much fun.

There's also the option to book a tuk-tuk tour in Siargao, which is a fun and social way to explore with a group! We booked one on our second day of vacation. The driver brought us to various attractions, including Coconut Farm View Deck, Maasin River, and Magpupungko Rock Pools.

Sugba Lagoon Tour

Dive board at Sugba Lagoon Siargao

Sugba Lagoon is a magical spot hidden away in Caob Island, just a quick boat trip from Del Carmen. It’s a beautiful lagoon with turquoise water, perfect for swimming and relaxing. There's even a wooden diving board you can jump off from for a refreshing dip!

Due to time constraints, we weren't able to join a Sugba Lagoon tour this time around, but it's definitely on the list for our next visit! Next time, I'm aiming to jump off the diving board at least three times!

Surfing Lessons in Siargao

Surfing boards for lessons in Siargao

Surfing in Siargao is a popular activity, so I had to give it a shot! I took a Siargao beginner's surf lesson, and let me tell you, it's harder than it looks. But it was so much fun learning the basics and catching a few small waves.

There are plenty of surf schools offering lessons at different price points, so you can find one that fits your budget. You can also book a Siargao surfboard rental so you can have fun surfing on your own for 5 hours, or join a Cloud 9 tour if you prefer to surf and visit other tourist spots as well.

I also tried wakeboarding in Siargao, which shares the thrill of riding a board but with the challenge of being pulled by a cable system. The friendly staff at Siargao Wakepark took care of everything, providing a helmet, life jacket, and, of course, the all-important wakeboard.

Wakeboarding boots and board

Being a total newbie, I opted for the main lake, a beginner's paradise at 100 meters long and 30 meters wide. There was plenty of space to practice my (somewhat wobbly at first) turns. The best part is I had an entire hour of unlimited wakeboarding! It was one of the highlights of my trip.

Have a worry-free and affordable Siargao getaway

Siargao might be known for its laid-back luxury, but budget travelers like us can have an amazing time, too! This guide hopefully gave you some ideas for cheap adventures that showcase Siargao's beauty and even finding deals on exciting activities. Thanks to one of the Siargao travel packages by Guide to the Philippines, my friends and I were able to curate the perfect itinerary to make the most of our time in this tropical paradise.

Remember, with a little research, you can also find cheap options for where to stay in Siargao aside from the more popular beach resorts in Siargao, whether you prefer a friendly hostel dorm or one of the cheap hotels in Siargao. Deciding where to eat in Siargao won't be a problem as well, with cheap options ranging from fresh seafood by the beach to delicious Filipino food in some restaurants.

So pack your bags, grab your sunscreen, and get ready for an unforgettable Siargao adventure on a budget!
