Information about Casa Real
Casa Real
Casa Real is a historic site in Marinduque. This tourist spot in Marinduque is considered a cultural landmark. The old Casa Real used to be where the Spanish Governor stayed during their visits to Marinduque in the 18th and 19th centuries. The town officials, led by the Gobernadorcillo, would eagerly await the Governor's arrival, with the whole town joining in the celebration. The Casa Real was a grand two-story building made from sturdy local materials like hardwood and adobe stones, with a roof made of special tiles.
Nowadays, a new Casa Real building stands in its place, designed to look like the original, and it's now a park called "Liwasan ng Kalayaan." This new building was constructed seven years ago by the town's administration, led by Mayor Roberto J. Madla.
