See some of the best islands, cultural, and historical attractions in the Philippines with this 8-day trip. Your itinerary includes visiting historical and cultural places in Manila and Baguio, as well as falls and islands in Bohol, Dumaguete, and Cebu. The Philippines has a long history to tell, and your guide will take you to some of the historic sites, including Intramuros in Manila. It is a walled area within the city that has witnessed the Spanish colonial period and World War II. Camp John Hay in Baguio also has historical significance as it formerly served as a military base of the US army and was established during the 19th century.

This excursion will also lead you to some of the top natural attractions in the Philippines. You’ll stop by the famous Strawberry Farm in Benguet, which occupies a 79-hectare land planted with red and sweet strawberries. You will also fly to Bohol, home to the Loboc River that is known to be one of the cleanest rivers in the country. You will get to ride a floating restaurant and go on a Loboc River Cruise.

Your guide will also show you Bohol’s stunning Chocolate Hills, one of the Philippines’ National Geological Monument. From Bohol, your guide will bring you to Apo Island in Dumaguete, where you can swim with sea turtles. Your vacation will include exploring the Province of Cebu as well. Day 1

Day 1 - Day 1: Intramuros Tour

On the first day, you will visit the historical, cultural, and religious attractions within Intramuros. Upon your arrival at Ninoy Aquino International Airport, your van will drive you to your Manila hotel along or around Roxas Boulevard. Intramuros is a historic walled area in Manila and a national historic landmark since 1951. Your guide will first show you Fort Santiago, the oldest Hispanic stone fortress in the Philippines. Next, you’ll stop by Plaza Roma, where you can find a monument of Charles IV of Spain. You will then head to Bahay Tsinoy, a museum where you’ll learn about the historical and cultural past between the ethnic Chinese and Filipinos. Casa Manila is another museum in your itinerary, and it will show you the way of life during the Spanish colonial era. Next is the San Diego Gardens. This spot has a fountain, pergolas, and an old Japanese canon. A few steps away is Baluarte De San Diego, a 16th-century bastion constructed in the shape of an ace of spades. Your Intramuros Tour also includes religious attractions such as San Agustin Church and Museum, which features religious artwork and statues, and Manila Cathedral, which has a large organ with 4,500 pipes.

Day 2 - Day 2: Baguio Tour

On Day 2, you will explore Baguio, also known as the City of Pines. You will check out of your Manila accommodation and move into a new hotel in Baguio. The city has a cool climate, so make sure to dress warmly for this day. Your tour will start at the Philippine Military Academy. This premier military institution has been a national historic landmark since 2019. You will proceed to the Mansion, the Philippine President's official summer palace with a museum containing presidential memorabilia. Camp John Hay is your next attraction. This former US military base changed over the past 100 years, and now it has food places, shopping establishments, activities, and more. Then, at Mines View Park, you can buy souvenirs and enjoy a fantastic view of the mountains and abandoned gold and copper mines. You will visit more beautiful parks where you can unwind. At Wright Park, you will see the famous Pool of Pines, plus you can go horseback riding. Meanwhile, you can find an art gallery, Igorot huts, sculptures, and lush gardens at Centennial Park. Lastly, you will stop by the Good Shepherd Convent. Favorite local treats, including ube jams and cookies, are sold here.

Strawberry farm in Benguet

Day 3 - Day 3: Benguet Tour

On the third day, you will visit the incredible attractions in Benguet. The province is also called the "Salad Bowl of the Philippines" as it is one of the main producers of fresh vegetables. Like Baguio, this location features a cool climate. Your first stop is the La Trinidad Strawberry Farm, which lies almost 8km from Baguio. This farm attracts thousands of visitors as it gives them the chance to pick fresh strawberries. The Atok Sakura Flowers come next. The flowers of more than 30 Sakura trees are yet to completely bloom every year. These cherry blossom trees are gifts from the Japanese government to Atok, Benguet. The following stop is another flower farm in Benguet, the Northern Blossom. This site occupies two hectares and features an array of flowers, including snapdragons, Matthiola, cabbage roses, and more. Then, you'll visit the 2nd Highest Point. It sits along Halsema Highway and boasts the second-highest altitude in the Philippines. The last stop for this day is the Spanish Trail. This 2km man-made attraction runs parallel to Halsema Highway. Also, it was built during the Spanish colonial period. Afterward, you'll travel back to Manila and stay at an accommodation along the Baywalk area.

Day 4 - Day 4: Bohol Countryside Tour

Your tour on Day 4 will be in the province of Bohol. After checking out of your Manila hotel, your van will transfer you to Ninoy Aquino International Airport. You will hop on a plane, which will fly directly to Panglao International Airport. You will first drop by your Panglao hotel to check-in, before proceeding with your excursion. Your first stop is Corella Tarsier Sanctuary. You’ll get to see here the Bohol tarsier, which is only about the size of an adult human hand. Up next, you’ll have a Loboc River Cruise. This involves riding a floating restaurant, where you can sample various Filipino dishes, which will cruise along the Loboc River, one of the cleanest rivers in the country. You’ll also visit the 16th-century Baclayon Church. Take notice of its walls and pillars made of coral stones. Next is the Butterfly Conservatory in the town of Bilar. This site features an open garden and an enclosure that both house various species of butterfly. Your last two stops are the man-made Bilar Forest, built during Spanish colonization, and the Chocolate Hills, known for their characteristic of changing color, from green to brown, depending on seasons.

Clear waters in Apo Island

Day 5 - Day 5: Apo Island Tour

It’s time to visit one of the beautiful islands and top diving spots in the Philippines, Apo Island. Owing to its coral gardens and marine life, this place is rated as one of the world’s most excellent dive sites. Once you have checked out of your hotel on Panglao Island, you will ride a ferry to Dumaguete. Upon arriving, your van will take you to the town of Dauin. Apo Island is off the coast of the town and has calm and clear waters surrounding it. You will hop on a boat and sail to the volcanic island. Make sure to gear up for swimming to better see the island’s rich biodiversity. While snorkeling, you may encounter fishes and sea turtles and also find marvelous corals. Aquatic animals such as manta rays, hammerheads, and tuna also inhabit the place. You can also do sunbathing or playing sports on the beach. Trekking is also possible on Apo Island. There’s a 600-meter eco-trail at the southern portion of the land. Once you reach the edge, you will be rewarded with an amazing view of the sea and rock formations. You will then ride a boat back to the mainland and travel to your Dumaguete hotel.

Day 6 - Day 6: Kawasan Falls and Moalboal Sardine Run Tour

The sixth day will be your departure to Cebu. After checking out of your accommodation in Dumaguete City, you’ll sail to the island of Cebu via ferry. You will first head to the town of Badian. Here, you will visit Kawasan Falls, which features three cascades, one of which is the largest and most crowded place. Those looking for thrills can add the canyoneering activity to your tour. From Badian, your van will drive you to Moalboal, a coastal town boasting a rich coral ecosystem that makes it popular among divers. It is also the starting point of your boat ride to your next attractions. The tiny and rocky Pescador Island is an ideal place to snorkel as it has beautiful corals of exotic fish. Next, you’ll visit Turtle Island. You can enjoy swimming with sea turtles at the site. You can also find colorful corals and abundant marine life here. Your final attraction for this day is located on Panagsama Beach, the Sardine Run. You’ll get to see millions of sardines swimming and circling as they create different shapes. After a fun-filled day, you will return to mainland Cebu and head to your hotel in the town of Argao.

Sirao Flower Farm in Cebu

Day 7 - Day 7: Cebu City Tour

The tour for this day will introduce you to some of the top attractions of Cebu City, also called the Queen City of the South. Cebu is the oldest city in the Philippines and was initially the capital. You will make your first stop at Taoist Temple. Established in 1972, the multi-tiered temple features an entrance that is a replica of the Great Wall of China. Your next stop is the Basilica Minore Del Santo Nino. It was constructed on the site where the image of Santo Niño de Cebú was discovered. The historically significant Magellan’s Cross is housed in a small chapel standing beside the basilica. You will next go to the Heritage of Cebu Monument, which depicts the history of Cebu. Then, you’ll drop by the Yap-San Diego Ancestral House that dated back to the 1600s and was established using coral stones and woods. Your itinerary also includes the Temple of Leah that features 24 chambers, a museum, an art gallery, and a bar. Finally, you will visit Sirao Flower Farm, which is regarded as Little Amsterdam of Cebu for its numerous flowers. Your van will then drive you to your Mandaue hotel after the tour.

At the end of your 8-day tour package, you will leave Cebu and head back to Manila City. Your van will fetch you at your accommodation in Mandaue City and then transport you to Mactan-Cebu International Airport. From Cebu, your plane will fly directly to Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

The season for dolphin watching in Dumaguete is from March to October and is subject to weather and wind conditions. If off-season or on days when the northeast monsoon is strong, dolphin watching may not be possible. During Habagat/ Southwest monsoon Season (June-October), boat ride to Apo Island may be rough.
