Description
Learn the basics of the Philippines' Tagalog language from the comforts of your own home with this 8-session beginner’s online course. This course includes 8 60-minute sessions and is perfect for those who want to learn the basics of Tagalog, or just brush up on it. By the end of the course, you should be able to understand basic phrases and simple sentences in Tagalog.
Each class is an hour long and may be scheduled once a day for 8 days in a row, every other day, or once a week for 8 weeks. Should you need to reschedule, remember to give your instructor advance notice. After your schedule is finalized, you will receive a link to a Zoom meeting that will host your classes.
In your first class, your instructor will teach you how to introduce yourself. You’ll learn your first Tagalog words, including “kumusta.” Your second class will complement the first one, as it will help you with what to say when conversing with people you just met. The third class will focus on numbers, hours, days of the week, and months. In your fourth session, you will get the chance to practice what you learned in the first three classes in a roleplaying activity with your instructor.
You will learn the words and phrases related to family, friends, and other relationships like “nanay,” “tatay,” “ate,” and “kuya” during your fifth class. Your sixth class will tackle commonly used verbs used in daily activities, while your seventh class will focus on practical Tagalog phrases and sentences that will allow you to ask for directions and order food. Your final session will give you the opportunity to try the new words you’ve learned in all of your previous classes through roleplaying.
