Enjoy the picturesque scenery of East Catanduanes with this half-day tour where you’ll be exploring gorgeous churches, waterfalls, beaches, and other scenic spots. This sightseeing activity will last for 5 hours and includes a complimentary lunch and two-way hotel transfer for your convenience. You also don’t have to worry about tour guide services and payment of entrance fees since they’re part of your tour package.
From your hotel, you’ll be boarding an air-conditioned service vehicle that will be your service for the tour. Your adventure starts at Maribina Falls in the town of Bato. This fall is about 5 meters to 6 meters high, from which clear and glistening waters come cascading down into a basin, inviting you for a swim.
After admiring the lush scenery of Maribina Falls, you’ll visit St. John Baptist Church, also known locally as Bato Church. This magnificent church with mortar and coral limestone facade stands beside the Bato River, so make sure to take photos of this spectacular view. Bato Church is also the oldest religious edifice in Catanduanes, and the fact that it’s still around up to this day makes it even more special.
Your next stop is at Batalay Shrine, which is another one of the province’s iconic landmarks. Also known as The Site of the First Cross in Catanduanes, this is said to be the memorial of Fray Diego de Herrera who belonged to the Augustinian Order and died in a shipwreck. This site dates back to 1576 and tells of legendary stories that make for an interesting historical and cultural tour.
You’ll then go to PAGASA Radar Station, a state-of-the-art weather station atop a hill in the town of Bato. Enjoy the relaxing scenery of the Cabugao Bay and its surrounding islets before heading to your next destination, which is Balacay Point in Baras town. The peak of Balacay Point provides stunning views of the horizon, not to mention it’s perfect for those fun jump-shot photos, too.
For your last stop, be ready to be awed by the majestic beauty of Puraran Beach with its creamy white sand and perfect swells that are ideal for surfing. You can surf the waves if time or weather permits, or you can simply lounge around until your tour guide calls it a day and takes you back to your hotel.
