Review of El Nido Island Hopping & Snorkeling Tour to Big Lagoon & Beaches with Lunch

Unforgettable Excursion – Highly Recommended! This excursion was hands down one of the best experiences my friends and I have had! Our guides, Rod and Ivan, were absolutely fantastic—engaging, funny, and full of energy. They kept the crowd entertained the entire time and made sure everyone was having a great time. One of the highlights was how amazing they were at taking pictures. The shots they captured looked so professional that my friends couldn’t believe they weren’t done by a pro! If you love great vacation photos, you’re in good hands with this crew. The snorkeling was beautiful, but definitely bring your own mask and goggles for the best experience. Lunch was local and delicious, which we really appreciated—it added an authentic touch to the trip. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking. The massive rock formations surrounding us were awe-inspiring, making us feel so small in comparison. The lagoons were stunning, and we had a chance to kayak and swim, which was a perfect way to soak in the beauty of the area. Our final stop at Commando Beach was the perfect way to wind down. We spent a relaxing two hours there, soaking up the sun. Definitely bring a large towel so you can lounge comfortably! Overall, this excursion was a 10/10 experience. If you’re looking for a mix of adventure, stunning landscapes, and great company, this is the perfect trip for you!

What marine life can I see on a snorkeling tour?
Snorkeling in the Philippines often includes encounters with tropical fish, sea turtles, colorful coral reefs, and large schools of sardines. In destinations like Donsol town, Oslob town, and Moalboal town, you may also get the chance to snorkel with whale sharks or swim among massive sardine runs. Reef areas in Balicasag Island, Coron town, and Apo Island are known for their healthy corals and diverse marine ecosystems.
What is the difference between snorkeling tours and diving packages in the Philippines?
Snorkeling tours are surface-level adventures that are accessible to everyone, requiring no certification. They’re ideal for beginners, families, and those who want to explore marine life without diving deep. On the other hand, diving packages in the Philippines cater to certified divers and include access to deeper reefs, shipwrecks, and more advanced dive sites. Many travelers enjoy combining both snorkeling and diving experiences during their trip.
Do snorkeling tours include equipment and guides?
Yes, most snorkeling tours include use of snorkeling gear like a mask, snorkel, and life vest. Local guides or boat crews are usually present to assist with safety and guide you through the best spots. Private tours may offer upgraded inclusions such as lunch, beverages, hotel transfers, and flexible schedules.
Are island hopping tours in the Philippines good for snorkeling?
Absolutely. Many island hopping tours in the Philippines include snorkeling as part of the itinerary. For example, Coron, El Nido, Bohol, and Boracay Island tours often feature snorkeling stops at coral gardens, sandbars, and marine sanctuaries. These tours are a great way to see multiple snorkeling spots and scenic islands in one trip.
When is the best time to go snorkeling in the Philippines?
The best time for snorkeling is during the dry season, which runs from November to May, when the weather is sunny and ocean conditions are calm. That said, snorkeling is possible year-round in many destinations, especially in marine sanctuaries like Apo Island and Balicasag Island. For whale shark interactions, the best time in Donsol town is between November and June, while Oslob town in Cebu Province offers year-round sightings.
Are snorkeling tours suitable for beginners and children?
Yes, snorkeling is one of the most beginner-friendly water activities in the Philippines. Many tours cater to first-time snorkelers and families, offering shallow reef sites and safety gear. Locations like Boracay Island, San Vicente town in Palawan Province, and Sumilon Island in Cebu Province are known for calm waters, making them great for children and those new to snorkeling. Private tours are highly recommended for families who want extra attention and flexibility.
