Top things to do in the Philippines
Discover all the adventures you can experience in the Philippines
Come along this tour that will take you to the geographical center of the Philippines. Also called the Heart of the Philippines because of its shape, Marinduque is one of the many provinces that piques the interest of nature and history lovers alike. If you are visiting Marinduque for the popular Moriones Festival during Holy Week, this tour is a perfect opportunity to explore the island some more.
You will be picked up from Boac in Mariduque in the morning. From there, you will head to the town of Balanacan to visit the geographical center of the country and its neighboring attractions. Your tour guide will discuss the itinerary as you make your way to your first stop.
First, you will head to Balanacan View Deck for a panoramic view of the azure waters of the western coastline, the verdant hills, and the Balanacan Cove. Take some pictures of the picturesque site before you proceed to your next destination.
Upon arriving at the Balanacan Station, also known as the Geodetic Center of the Philippines, you will have a relatively easy and short walk up the hill to see the stone marker known as Luzon Datum. All maps and surveys made in the country use this landmark as a reference point.
From the station, you will embark on a long drive en route to the last stop of this tour in the town of Sta. Cruz: the Kawa Kawa Falls. Swim in the wide basin of the beautiful falls to douse the tropical heat. Here you can relax, wade in the cool waters, and let the gentle cascade give you a neck and back massage.
By noontime, you will have your sumptuous lunch near the falls. Afterwards, you can take some more pictures or stroll around, but make sure to follow the Leave No Trace principle.
