Appreciate Baguio City’s art scene as you go on this hassle-free half-day excursion that lets you visit the cultural places in the City of Pines. The trip is tailored for art enthusiasts and travelers who want to see and experience the city’s cultural heritage.
After being picked up from your residence or lodging either in the morning or afternoon, you will begin the half-day tour, starting with the Tam-Awan village. Sitting in the city’s Pinsao Proper, the Tam-Awan village showcases authentic Cordilleran craftsmanship as it features seven Ifugao huts and two Kalinga houses, among other artifacts. Feel free to take a short trek around the village and soak in the serene atmosphere. You can also check out the art exhibits displayed here or have your portrait drawn by the locals.
You will then make a stop in BenCab Museum owned by the national artist, Ben Cabrera. It features BenCab and other Filipino artists’ artworks. From time to time, the museum also exhibits art pieces from local artists. There is a cafe inside the museum, as well, the Café Isabel, where you can take a break and enjoy its delectable sweets and quality coffee.
From there, you will head to the Woodcarver’s Village in Benguet. It highlights the indigenous aesthetics, natural environment, and the rich cultural heritage of the Cordillerans through wood carving. The Woodcarver's Village is a hub for budding local artists as the city promotes their talents and craftsmanship. This is why the trip also provides you with a special souvenir. You will end your day with a visit to the Easter Weaving Room to see handmade weaving crafts from the Ifugaos before heading home.
