Discover the historical background of Ilocos Norte province in this day tour around the towns of Laoag, Burgos, and Bangui and its nearby landmarks. If you are into history and heritage and love sightseeing, then this tour is just for you.

After being picked up from your hotel, you will go to the city of Laoag where you will experience the Laoag City Rolling Tour, starting with a visit to the St. William’s Cathedral and the famous Sinking Bell Tower. Both attractions are a mere 100 meters away from each other and are closely connected in history. The tower is said to be continuously sinking as years pass by because it was built on sandy ground.

You will then head to Museo Ilocos Norte to learn more about the locals and their culture as you explore the building filled with traditional artifacts from the Ilocano, Itneg, and Igorot groups. Around 200 meters away from the museum is Aurora Park, best known for its multi-tiered obelisk called Tobacco Monopoly Monument. The monument dates back to 1881 and was erected as a symbol of the end of the Spanish tobacco monopoly in the country, thanks to King Alfonso XII.

From Laoag City, you will be driven to Burgos to see the Cape Bojeador Lighthouse, also known as the Burgos Lighthouse. This lighthouse was declared by the Philippine government as a National Historical Landmark and a National Cultural Treasure — definitely something you should not miss. You will then proceed to a wind farm, where the Bangui Windmills are located. These windmills generate generous wind energy that power some parts of the region.

From the wind farm, you will be headed to Pagudpud to have your lunch first so that you will have ample energy to spare for the other half of the day which will be equally fun. After a short tour in Pagudpud, you'll be stopping at the Patapat Viaduct first before going back to Laoag — a bridge that is elevated more than thirty meters above sea level. For an additional fee, you can also opt to experience the Ilocos Sand Dunes, ride a 4x4, or play in the sand bed.

Make the most out of your stay in Ilocos Norte with this jam-packed sightseeing trip around its iconic attractions. Check availability by choosing a date.
