Dive into the rich underwater life of Cebu’s southwestern tip with this full-day water adventure. Taking you to the sardine run of Moalboal and the fascinating sea turtles of Pescador Island, this package is not to be missed by all ocean-loving adventurers visiting the province.
After being picked up by your tour guide from your accommodation in Cebu or Mactan early in the morning, you will be driven to the municipality of Moalboal. This small town serves as the entry point to the surrounding beaches and islands dotting the shoreline of Cebu. The reef structure in the town follows the coastline and serves as a sanctuary to the teeming tropical fishes and other sea creatures in the area. Upon arriving at the receiving area of Moalboal, you will be given gears you’ll need for the day.
You will then be taken to Panagsama Beach, where most of the schools of sardines lurk freely. The sardines typically swim just 20 meters off the coast of the beach, making it easy for you to spot them. Once you’re ready to dive, don your snorkel mask and get up close and personal with the huge schools of sardines creating different forms against the backdrop of the fantastic reef wall. There are easily a million sardines in each school, so be prepared to experience a blackout underneath the sea as their massive number block the sunlight. First-timers need not worry, though, as your guide will assist you throughout the activity.
Aside from the sardine run, you will also be amazed by the colorful corals and schools of tropical fishes as you go snorkeling in Panagsama Beach’s shores. To level up your snorkeling experience, you will be taken to Pescador Island, where dozens of sea turtles typically stay. On a nice day, you can see a handful of them very close to the shoreline, especially at Tonggo and Talisay points. Relax and wade in the cool waters while your guide looks for these creatures and point them out to you.
Pack your swimsuits and underwater camera as you join this fantastic tour exploring Moalboal’s rich marine life. Check availability by choosing a date.
