Description

Spend a day exploring the outdoor attractions and historical spots of Ilocos Sur with this guided tour from Vigan. If you’re already in the UNESCO World Heritage City, this Ilocos Sur tour is perfect for you as it will allow you to explore nearby areas easily. Since all transportation and entrance fees are part of this package, you can enjoy your tour hassle-free.

Your 8-hour tour will start with you being picked up at your hotel in Vigan (or if you’re staying in either of the municipalities of Bantay or San Vicente in Ilocos Sur, you can also be picked up from your accommodation there). You will then go to Adventure Zone, a park where you can try kayaking, rappelling, and traversing its 400-meter zipline, which goes over Abra River. After you’ve had your adrenaline rush, you will head to Nuestra Señora de la Asuncion Church or more commonly known as Sta. Maria Church, as it is located in the municipality of Sta. Maria. It is one of the four churches in the Philippines that has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site thanks to their distinct Baroque architecture.

The next stop on your tour is Pinsal Falls. The largest waterfall in Ilocos can be found near the border of Abra province and tells the story of a giant named Angalo who is looking for Aran, his lover. The natural pools on the top of the falls are said to be the footprints Angalo left as he passed by the mountains of Pinsal in his search. Don’t forget to bring swimming attire, extra clothes, and a towel for this stop!

You’ll then visit Santiago Cove, which is called the “Boracay of Ilocos Sur” thanks to its powdery white sand. Also called Sabangan Cove, it is a spot perfect for swimming, thanks to its calm waters. After that, you’ll head to Mapisi Rock, a rock formation that is split in the middle by natural forces. It’s located right on the beach, so you’ll not only get to enjoy the view of the rock formations themselves but also of the white sand beach and the West Philippine Sea. The space between the two rocks is big enough for you to explore, so don’t miss the chance to do so.

After exploring the beaches, you’ll head to the oldest landmark in Barangay Bateria in the municipality of San Esteban, the Bateria Watchtower, also known as the Moro Watchtower. As its name suggests, it was built to alert townspeople of pirates coming from the sea. Now it serves as a tourist spot that gives visitors a stunning view of the sea.

You’ll then head to San Esteban Beach, a peaceful beach where you can enjoy a quick dip before heading to Vitalis Villas Resorts and Spa for a day tour. The Vitalis Villas Ilocos Sur resort is inspired by the famous Greek island Santorini and will give you spectacular views of Santiago Cove. After your visit, you’ll be brought back to your hotel so you can get some rest after a day of exploring.

Explore Ilocos Sur from Vigan and see its natural wonders and heritage sites with this guided tour. Check the availability by choosing a date.
