Once you arrive at the Port of Currimao, your designated driver will meet you and pick you up. You will then head to Laoag to begin your day tour. The first stop on your Laoag tour is St. William Cathedral. Also known as Laoag Cathedral, this Italian Renaissance structure was built in 1612 by Augustinian friars to replace a wooden chapel that the locals used.
Afterward, you’ll walk to Laoag’s Sinking Bell Tower. As its name suggests, the whole structure is believed to be slowly sinking to the ground at a rate of one inch a year. You will end your walking tour of Laoag with a visit to the Tobacco Monopoly Monument and Aurora Park. The monument is an obelisk located inside the park. It commemorates the abolition of the tobacco monopoly during the Spanish era.
You will then board the van and head to Paoay. Your first stop here is Malacañang of the North. It used to be the official residence of former President Ferdinand Marcos in Ilocos Norte. Your final stop on this shore excursion is Paoay Church, which is also known as Saint Augustine Church. This Roman Catholic Church is one of the Baroque Churches of the Philippines that are considered UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
After your Paoay tour, you will be driven back to the Port of Currimao so you can board your cruise ship.

On the day of the tour, your assigned driver/tour coordinator will meet you at the port of Currimao at least thirty (30) minutes prior to start of the tour. Strictly no latecomers or tour reservation might be forfeited. To arrange for a private hotel pick-up and drop-off, please email booking@guidetothephilippines.ph. Additional transportation fees apply.
