Description

Explore the world-famous Puerto Princesa Underground River in Palawan by going on this day tour. This is the perfect experience for travelers who want to see this UNESCO World Heritage Site up close, as you will get to cruise down the river. Along with the use of a boat, the tour comes with the service of a guide, private land transfers, a set local lunch, and free pick-up and drop-off within Puerto Princesa.

On the day of your Puerto Princesa Underground River tour, your guide will fetch you from your accommodation in Puerto Princesa. From there, you will head to the port and board a boat bound for the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park in the municipality of Sabang. After arriving at the park, you will hop in a smaller boat that will take you across the iconic underground river.

The river goes on for 8.2 kilometers and runs through a sprawling cave system that features verdant forests, karst formations, stalactites, and stalagmites. Some rock formations inside the cave system have also gained popularity due to their resemblance to objects, artworks, and even places around the world. Along with the limestones, the caverns are home to colonies of bats. Make sure to avoid talking while cruising through the cave, so you don't accidentally wake these nocturnal creatures.

When you exit the cave, you will head back to the park, where you can find the lush forests that border the river. In the forests, you can find a diverse ecosystem consisting of an array of birds, mammals, and reptiles. Some of the notable animals here include the Palawan hornbill, Tabon scrub fowl, Palawan bearded pig, long-tailed macaque, and monitor lizards.

Following your time cruising along the river, you will be treated to delicious local lunch, complete with a drink. Afterward, you will head back to the port, and your driver will bring you back to your hotel or resort in Puerto Princesa.

Discover the thriving ecosystem inside the Puerto Princesa Underground River by booking this Palawan underground river tour. Check the availability by choosing a date.
