From your hotel in Baguio City, you’ll be boarding a vehicle that will be your service for the tour. Your first destination is Camp John Hay, a well-known resort in Baguio City built on mountainous terrain and acts as a forest watershed reservation.
Aside from the hotels, shopping centers, and convention center in the area, the camp is visited because of its relaxing atmosphere thanks to thousands of pine trees and the cool breeze.
The concept of “forest bathing” was developed in Japan in the 1980s, more known as ‘shinrin-yoku, which means ‘taking in the forest atmosphere’. You will walk leisurely through the pine woods in Camp John Hay, which can help reduce stress and blood pressure, increase energy level and ability to focus, improve sleep, and many more.
The eco-trail starts from Le Monet Hotel, which is the location of the Paintball Republic. Along with your guide, you will traverse through 9 checkpoints and see various art installations such as wind chimes and the energy rock, found along the trail until you reach the Butterfly Sanctuary.
After your forest bathing experience, you will make a side trip to Baguio Orchidarium, a botanical garden located in Burnham Park. You’ll be able to see and learn about the various kinds of orchids like phalaenopsis and other cymbidium, as well as have the opportunity to buy potted tropical flowers and plants you can take back home.
