Explore the western side of Catanduanes with this half-day private tour around wonderful attractions, including beaches, caves, churches, and museums. Among the places you’ll be visiting in this 5-hour tour, which also includes complimentary lunch and transfers, are Virac Cathedral, Luyang Cave, and Mamangal Beach, and Twin Rock Beach.

You’ll begin your tour once you’re picked up at your hotel within the town of Virac, San Andres (Calolbon), or Caramoran. You’ll immediately proceed to Museo De Catanduanes to give you a good idea of the province’s historical and cultural heritage through various displays of interesting artifacts and memorabilia.

After your museum tour, you’ll be on your way to Marilima Beach, an unspoiled beach with white sand, verdant coconut trees, and an idyllic atmosphere that will surely relax you. Right next to Marilima Beach is your next destination, Batag Rock Arc. You’ll see this natural rock formation, which is best explored during low tide, at Batag Beach, a small beach that looks equally stunning as the other beach resorts.

Once you’re done with beach hopping, you’ll be visiting Virac Cathedral, an iconic landmark in the province of Catanduanes known for its grand architectural design that features stained-glass windows and dome-shaped ceiling inspired by St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome.

Next, you’ll be making a stop at Mamangal Beach. Swim through its crystal clear waters or find a spot for some sunbathing. You’ll then visit Batong Paloway, the home of Our Lady of Sorrows Shrine. Spend some quiet time here with the stone image of the Virgin Mary, which is believed to be miraculous.

Your adventure continues when you stop at Luyang Cave, known both for its historical and geographical significance. This cave below the Sand Andres-Virac Highway used to be a hiding place for locals during the Moro Raid that took place in the early part of the 18th century. Geographically speaking, this cave is home to innumerable bats and it also features interesting stalactites and stalagmites.

Next, you will check out the Face of Jesus Rock Formation at Talisoy Beach. As the name suggests, this rock formation is famous for its resemblance to the face of Jesus Christ. After admiring this unique feature, take the opportunity to swim around the cove and soak up some sun.

For your last stop, you’ll be visiting the Twin Rock Beach, a resort that got its name from the huge rock formations on both ends of the beach. The beach has deep waters, which makes it more ideal for surfboarding and windsurfing rather than swimming, although you can find a pool near the rock formations too. At the end of your tour, you’ll be dropped off back at your hotel.
