Discover the cool waters of Pink Sand Beach in Sta. Cruz Island on this half-day tour from Zamboanga City. If you’re looking for a quick trip to the beach that isn’t too far from the city, then this escapade is not to be missed.
You will be picked up at your hotel around Zamboanga City or you can meet your guide at Paseo del Mar. From there, you will board a small boat that will take you directly to Sta. Cruz Island. Nestled in Basilan Strait, off the coast of the city, the island is home to a small community of Badjaos and has been open to tourism for quite some time now.
Once you dock on the island, you will be welcomed by the picturesque view of its pink sand that was formed from the crushed red organ pipe corals. Marvel at the uniqueness of the beach and make sure to take plenty of photos as souvenirs. You will then be given enough time to swim and snorkel to your heart's content and discover the interesting marine life in the island. You can also have a short trek to the Badjao’s Old Cemetery and learn more about the tribe’s history and burial practice.
After exploring the island, you will then be boarding a small boat and have a cruising experience to the island’s inland lagoon where you can see and touch stingless jellyfish and learn about the century-old mangroves. You will also be given enough time and opportunity to ride and take a photo inside a Vinta boat – the traditional colorful boat in Mindanao. After your Vinta experience, you may enjoy a picnic seafood lunch with a good view of the beach to replenish your energy. Should the weather permit, you may be able to have a quick stop at a small sandbar in Sta. Cruz for a photo opportunity before you head back to Zamboanga town proper.
Experience the sea, sand, and stories of the surrounding sites in Pink Sand Beach when you join this half-day trip from Zamboanga City. Check availability by choosing a date.
