Description

Explore some of Cebu’s top tourist attractions virtually and immerse yourself into Cebuano culture with this online class and virtual tour package. This package comes with 4 60-minute sessions: classes on the Cebuano Language, Cebuano history and traditions, and Cebuano cuisine, and a virtual tour of select tourist attractions in Cebu. This is perfect for those who have travel plans to Cebu in the future, as each session is facilitated by an expert on Cebuano culture, so you will gain useful knowledge for your trip.

The schedule for these sessions is flexible. You can take one class a day for 4 consecutive days, every other day, or even once a week. After you have decided on a schedule, your facilitators will send you a Zoom Meeting link where the sessions will be hosted.

For your first session, you will have a class on the Cebuano language. Locals refer to it as Bisaya, and while it is spoken on the island of Cebu, you’ll also encounter it in other provinces like Bohol and Siquijor, as it is one of the most widely spoken languages in the Philippines.

Your 2nd session is on the history and traditions of Cebu and Cebuanos. The island’s story is interesting as it is actually here where Ferdinand Magellan first landed in 1521, which led to the first Spanish settlement in the country.

When it comes to food, Cebu is also a prime tourist destination as it is home to a variety of delicious local cuisine, including Cebu lechon and sutukil. Be prepared to have your mouth watering as you discuss these and more in your 3rd class.

Finally, in your last session, a virtual tour guide will take you to some of the island’s tourist attractions, including historical sites, waterfalls, mountains, and spectacular dive spots like Malapascua, Mactan, and Moalboal.

Once your sessions are over, feel free to ask your teacher or guide questions about Cebu, including where to stay, where to eat, and what to do, so that they can help you plan your trip.

Get a crash course on Cebu and its history and culture with this package. Check the availability by choosing a date.
