Frequently asked questions

Where are the best places for adventure tours in the Philippines?

Thrill-seeking travelers can satisfy their thirst for adrenaline in a wide variety of adventure tours in the Philippines. You can try canyoneering or extreme tandem skydiving in Cebu, paragliding in Sarangani, hiking Mount Pinatubo or Mount Pulag in North Luzon, spelunking limestone caves in Sagada or Puerto Princesa, riding a bike zipline overlooking the Chocolate Hills in Bohol, seeing the wild tigers eye to eye in Zoobic Safari, river tubing in Quirino or or riding the waves of the best surfing spots in Siargao.

How many activities are included in the tour?

It varies per tour and its degree of adventure. While adventure parks offer at least 5 activities, more extreme adventure tours, such as skydiving, paragliding and trekking, will focus on one major activity.

Will I still get to sightsee on adventure tours?

Yes, adventure tours include a mixture of sightseeing and activities.

What should I pack for adventure tours?

Given the unpredictable weather and that adventure tours are mostly outdoors, it’s best to bring only your personal necessities and to be in casual or active and comfortable clothes and footwear. Consider pulling off a sporty attire, dry-fit shirts, cycling or flexible shorts and closed rubber or hiking shoes, depending on your chosen tour. We have sections in our destination travel guides to make sure you know what to wear and what to pack when in the Philippines. All additional specifications are listed on each tour page, although the specialized equipment is usually provided for you.

Are there food and drinks included in the tour?

Most full day tours include food and drinks, while half-day tours don’t. Make sure to check the description and itinerary of your chosen tour.

Can kids join adventure tours in the Philippines?

Some adventure tours have age limits, depending on the activity. You can always check the minimum age for each tour in the tour description.

When is the best time of the year for an adventure holiday?

It’s best to do adventure tours during the dry season (from November to May) to avoid the unpredictable weather or tour cancellation.

Are all adventure tours safe?

Some adventure tours can be dangerous, so make sure to follow your guide’s safety instructions and wear the provided safety equipment like helmets and life vests. Book tours only from tour operations with permits and accreditation from the Department of Tourism of the Philippines that meet the standards for safety.

Are there adventure tours during rainy or bad weather?

For your safety, tour operators will assess if the weather is not ideal to proceed with tours and advise you as soon as possible.

Can people with disabilities (PWDs) go on adventure tours?

It depends on the type of disability. You can declare any disabilities or health concerns with your tour operators so they can assess if a health clearance from your doctor is required.
