Go on an outdoor adventure through a lush rainforest by joining this Mt. Makiling Traverse guided day hike tour from Manila. This private day hike tour will take you through the rainforest of Batangas and Laguna. You will be guided through Mt. Makiling, a dormant volcano that towers to 1,090 meters above sea level.

Mt. Makiling Traverse, popularly known as MakTrav, is ideal for avid mountaineers and nature lovers looking for a worthwhile challenge. Rated a moderate to difficult climb, you will be weaving through a trail teeming with exotic wildlife such as pitcher plants. This hike will also give you the chance to see the world’s biggest flower, the Rafflesia.

You will be picked up from Bluebay Macapagal in Manila. You will start your trek in Sitio Jordan in Sto. Tomas Batangas all the way to the Makiling Nursery in Los Baños Laguna. Expect the trail to gradually become steeper. After a few hours of trekking, you will reach the trail junction at Station 7.

Peak 3, the most exciting parts of the trail, will not be far ahead. You will eat your packed lunch on Peak 3, which on a clear day, will treat to a panoramic view of the plains of Laguna. Also known as Melkas Ridge, Peak 3 is a steep rock face that you will have to climb with the help of ropes. This segment will get your heart pumping and give you an adrenaline rush that will see you through Peak 2, the summit.

Enjoy the obstacle course of fallen trees between Peak 3 to Peak 2. Once you reach the summit, every sweat will be worth it. Take a moment to savor your accomplishment of having summited Mt. Makiling. Snap a few photos as a remembrance before you start descending.

Mt. Makiling is no easy feat, but don't worry, your guide will be with you at all times. Check the booking availability by choosing a date.
